KCRA channel 3 is running their yearly “Best of Sacramento” contest. This is the first year I am participating and I would love it if you would vote for me! Here’s the deal too…go vote for me, and then come back here and comment that you did, under this post.  Of those that leave me a comment, I will put your names in a hat and you will receive a complimentary session with me!!  If you already voted you must leave a comment under this post to be eligible for the free session (and thank you to those who have! I am currently in a whopping 22nd place!)  You can only vote once, so send out the link to your family and friends! (if they are out of state, they could win the session for you!) I will choose the winner of the session as soon as the contest ends (which isn’t until April.)

I’m putting in some client orders tonight and realized I never shared any more from this session .

Here’s a couple more of my favorites!

My Zachy is an interesting boy to say the least. He can melt my heart one second, and frustrate the heck out of me the next (probably like all 3 year old boys and their mamas!) I pray over him so much, he has such a call on his life, I can SEE his future, great things I tell you…that boy is going to do GREAT THINGS!! This is another photo that I will be able to look back at and know what I was trying to capture, even though others may not.

He loves seeing himself in my eyes. Specifically after time outs (yep!). After he’s been in the corner for a few minutes, we talk face to face, eye to eye. He practically always stops me (trying to make the moves on me!) and says “I can see in yo’ eyezz!” Meaning, he can see himself in my eyes. He thinks it is fascinating, and I think it is fascinating just witnessing him learn something new. I’ll catch him in the bathroom mirror making faces at himself, and the other day he proclaimed that we both have brown eyes (yay for learning his colors!!) He’s my baby, always, I hope he can always see himself in my eyes, for this photo, I’m in his.

Welcome to the new and improved Amy Schuff Photography Blog. This blog started out 3 years ago just as a place for my family and friends to keep track of all the tons of pictures that I was starting to take as I discovered my love for photography. It has now molded into much more, but is still my personal place for pictures. I love the new look and I hope you do too! It’s been fun to put it together, (thanks to my husband and lots of online video tutorials!)

Don’t forget to subscribe by using the RSS button above. For those of you who don’t know how to use RSS…you’re not alone! I’m working on a different way to subscribe to the blog, but don’t know how successful I will be. We’ll see!

So leave me a comment and let me know how it looks! If you see any bugs…I’m still working on stuff and I hope to have it perfected soon. I know this thing isn’t completely finished, but it will be eventually! Let me know if you see any issues!

So here’s my first “new blog” post! My little Liliana…she just learned to walk this week!

Happy Birthday… & Week 35/52

February 16, 2009

My baby girl turned 1 today. I keep getting a lot of “has it been a year already!?” from friends, etc. I am the most surprised out of all of us. This year flew by and I’m not that happy about it! I admit I’ve been emotional, thinking about the past year and how she’s my last baby and what it means for our family…and me as a mama. She’s just about walking now, and pretty soon the days of a crawling baby will be gone. I wish I could go back to my young mother self, when Abby was first born, I would tell myself, “Enjoy these days! They grow up so fast!” Lily’s been my indulged baby.  And I like it that way.

Remember last year at this time? I sure do! When I posted this photo I never thought what would happen in the days that followed. I actually am pretty fond of those days that I was overdue with Lily. This by far is my favorite one that I took, it is still on my fridge.  I seriously considered resorting to this…but was a wimp. My husband was a huge inspiration during those days, especially for this one…he deflated his basketball just for me. But finally, she decided it was time to make her appearance. It was true, she wouldn’t stay in my tummy for forever, although at times I thought she would. She arrived in a quick 3 hours and 17 minutes (I remember exactly when I went into hard labor because it was during an episode of LOST!!) I’m happy that is behind me now, and all I have to look forward to is my baby girl…learning to walk…or to use a spoon…or to be able to eat her food without having to cut it up into tiny pieces.

My two birthday loves one year ago…

and now…

Week 35/52 on her birthday

Week 34/52

February 7, 2009
I’ve felt uninspired all week. We’re dealing with whole family sickness here, as well as all the crap issues that come with buying a house!

Anyway, whenever I’m feeling uninspired when it comes to taking my week’s photo, (and this can be a tip for you out there as well doing this challenge with me) I just think of something insanely mundane. This week, feeding a bottle. Lily turns a year old next Sunday, and she is in no way ready to be weaned from a bottle. I wonder how many feedings we’ve had together? It’s just routine now, make a bottle, feed a bottle, repeat. But this kind of action I still want to document. I want to remember all the bottles and how little she was when she would drink from one. She’ll grow to be like Mommy one day with her Coke a day habit. Right now the most unhealthy thing to touch her lips is the dirt she ate out of Grammy’s potted plant last night :) So here we are…doing our thing.
