About Amy

Hi! I'm Amy! Right off the bat...the most important things in life to me are my family (my handsome husband and three beautiful children), my Jesus and capturing our life in pictures.

I feel that photos are to be shared, they exist to evoke feelings and help friends and family bond even worlds apart. I love meeting new families, taking their pictures and being able to be apart of their memories for just a moment.

I strive to bring every part of me to a session, I'm loud but introverted, I'm fun but serious. I will hug you when I meet you and treat you like part of my family. A session with me is just simply about one thing and one thing only...YOU.

Please feel free to contact me using the Contact link above to inquire about a child or family photo session in the Sacramento, California area. I'm looking forward to it.

Behold, my future…
♥ Sacramento’s Lifestyle Photographer

Wednesday, December 30th, 2009

I only have the privilege of raising one boy. He is though, gearing up to be a very boy’s boy, man’s man, whatever you want to call it, he is all boy…all the time. I know it was God’s plan for me to only have one boy. Even though I’ve only got Zach, I truly don’t think he will be my only “son”. I photographed a beautiful family right before the holiday, this amazing Mom was surrounded by sons. These boys were pleasant, polite, funny, silly, innocently inappropriate at times, and made me laugh so stinking hard the entire time. Their family was fun. The whole thing just looked like a lot of fun. Isn’t that what having kids is about? Raising these little people and having a joyful time doing it? And when they grow to be young adults, you get to have adult conversations and talk about life and have these amazing friends who you’ve raised to go down the right path. They will bring home their friends and no one will ask but you will fall into the mom role to those who you did not raise. I think that is my future…to be a mom to many…at least I hope so.

What  a great holiday we had! Actually, we had multiple Christmases over here…not sure if I will blog all of them, but here’s one of the family parties we had. This is on Christmas eve over at my parent’s house.

…have a very lovely Christmas! Don’t forget what we’re celebrating! JESUS!! Our one and only Savior who came to save us from our sins and lives not worth living. I love Christmas, I love it! But my goodness it can be stressful! The massive amounts of sugar, the insane materialism that we all feel around the holidays, the shopping and the eating! This holiday could easily mean nothing if we don’t understand His amazing LOVE for us! I am so thankful that my life has true meaning and that I wake up each day with a heart full of acceptance and love from my heavenly Father.

I’ve got three beautiful children all asleep in their beds, some days I just don’t know what I did to deserve my life. Then I realize…I didn’t do anything…I’m just a child of God. Thank you Jesus for blessing me and my family. Bless those who are reading this, may they feel your Love on Christmas morning.

My first born…

It happened again, and I couldn’t stop it. She lost another tooth…and the one right next to it will very quickly follow it. When did she get to be a big girl? Her feelings were hurt at church (of all places!) by another child. After she told me what happened, I just wanted to scoop her up and tell her what an amazing little girl she was…and I did…I looked her straight in the eyes and made her promise to be no one but ABBY.

What if we all truly were just ourselves? Not the insecure, pretend version of ourselves, but the real version that God had in mind when he created us. Sure we all have flaws and we’ll never be perfect, but what if we just decided that who cares if so and so doesn’t like me…I am living in the will of God and as long as Jesus thinks I’m cool…than I am! I don’t mean that by being ourselves that we hurt others…I mean that if others can’t see us for the beautiful creations we are…then we are allowed to surround ourselves with those who do.

The sweet, energetic spirit that my daughter has is contagious. The kind of spirit that will sing the entire Polar Express song to a stranger in line at a store, the kind of Spirit that after receiving a dollar for doing chores, will then immediately make a list of what she can buy her brother with that dollar. She worships, she sings, she loves to draw, read, write and take pictures. She’s my kind of girl!

I never want her to change. Never. For her sake though…I do want those teeth to grow in straight.

under “I hate winter”. Yes…hate is a strong word. I don’t allow my children to even say that word. But their mama is saying it. This photo makes me think of Spring…and I love Spring. LOVE IT! And I hate winter, and the terrible part is….it isn’t winter yet!! The hubster and I have planned a very much awaited trip to sandy beaches and warm water early in the spring next year. I am literally counting down the days and sometimes its the only thing that gets me through these yucky overcast foggy rainy cold wet damp blustery icky yucky no good weather days.

I apologize for the lack of blogging lately. Honestly, I’m in one of those infamous “ruts” that I and all photographers get into. I fully blame it on the weather! I need a photo project to get me back in the mood….hmmmm…..

Christmas countdown is on! Only just last night did I start Christmas shopping. I’m kind of a procrastinator, so I’m trying to turn over a new leaf and get all my shopping done before Christmas eve (I hope I can do it!) In all the craziness of the holidays I haven’t had much time to focus on my own photos. Lily is getting so big and I need to pick up my camera more!! I’m going to blink and she will be able to pronounce it “lemonaid” and not “nemon-nemon-aiiiiid”

She was cracking me up a few days ago. When something is new she makes this face, like “oh my goodness!”  She kept hearing the neighbor’s dog bark and it was *very* fascinating!!
