This is a photo from one of my very first newborn sessions back in 2007. I stumbled across it yesterday and did some re-editing. I love seeing how even when I was just starting out, I leaned towards lifestyle newborn sessions and 5 years later it is still my favorite way to photograph a newborn.

If you are expecting a little one, it is best to have him/her photographed in the first 10 days of life. Contact me before you have your baby so we can get you on the calendar. Often new moms call me weeks after the baby is born and we have missed capturing those precious moments that happen during the first few days of bringing baby home.

I came home with some exciting new things for my business. If you are a future client of Amy Schuff Photography, or would like to be…then get excited! Good things are coming your way…

Until then, here is just one photo of the many many I took during the workshop. I’ll be posting quite a few different blog entries as we had the opportunity to photograph numerous beautiful and just plain lovely models.

This little sweet pea will always hold a special place in my heart…

Usually it is just he and I in the afternoons his mama is at work, his cousin sleeps and his other cousins at school. I watch him, look into the toy box, stare at the colors that he has seen a hundred times before. No new toys today…but to him they are all still new.  He plays. He explores. Then he squeals in delight when his mama comes through the door…she’s only been gone an hour or two but she’s his best friend and all he knows is to lay his head on her shoulder and give her wet kisses. He adds such sweetness to his family.

I got to babysit him on Tuesday, I was so looking forward to just spending time with him. Then a wrench was thrown into my plans by the Enemy and I felt defeated, like I couldn’t move, couldn’t be the Aunt I wanted to be.  It was also the kids’ first day of school…I had so many plans for that day, full of simple joy and spending it with my Lily & baby Ethan. But then through foggy glasses I sat with Baby E on the couch and we made each other laugh. His rolls and big tummy bellowing with deep laughter. God has such a plan for his life…

Also I feel so blessed to have upgraded my computer this week. Yes folks…I am now a Mac :) This will allow me to take my photography into places that it never could have gone with my precious little computer that started to smell like fire. I may post a tribute to my new Mac…of course I took photos of it as I opened it out of the box!!

Anyway, I have gotten behind in my photos and wanted to put a couple more up on the blog of this precious little newborn. I know her parents are dying to see the rest of them! Soon!

Isn’t she just so peaceful? Not a care in the world.
