About Amy

Hi! I'm Amy! Right off the bat...the most important things in life to me are my family (my handsome husband and three beautiful children), my Jesus and capturing our life in pictures.

I feel that photos are to be shared, they exist to evoke feelings and help friends and family bond even worlds apart. I love meeting new families, taking their pictures and being able to be apart of their memories for just a moment.

I strive to bring every part of me to a session, I'm loud but introverted, I'm fun but serious. I will hug you when I meet you and treat you like part of my family. A session with me is just simply about one thing and one thing only...YOU.

Please feel free to contact me using the Contact link above to inquire about a child or family photo session in the Sacramento, California area. I'm looking forward to it.

Tiny Hiatus + Session Info…

Friday, July 29th, 2011

The blog has been super quiet, and I’ve missed posting here, but starting tomorrow I’m taking a little hiatus to go traveling with my family. I’ll have an absolute ton of photos to share when I get back of the wonderful country of Mexico!! I’m so very excited to go back with my husband and our kids. I will have internet while I’m gone, but I’ll be slow at returning emails.

Just some FYI…if you are planning on photos for Christmas… August, September and October are the months to book. When I get back I’ll be announcing an August mini session that I’m sure you’ll want to take advantage of. It will be the last mini session until 2012!

Click Here to contact me for session info! Keep in mind, I am still offering my Summer Special creative fee for any session paid for before September 1st (session can be held any time until January 2012).

August: 3 openings
September: 4 openings
October: 4 openings
November: 3 openings (only one in the beginning of the month that can accommodate prints in time for Christmas)
December: 2 openings (no Christmas sessions)

Before I leave…I’m trying to finish this family’s session today and this photo struck a chord in me…he is just a sweetheart!

Super Family…

Tuesday, July 19th, 2011

Super is my word of the day. See…I forgot how fun it was to work with older kids…such a breeze!!

Side Note: My little family is taking a very last minute, spur of the moment, impromptu family vacation! I will be back on Thursday when I’ll return all calls and emails. Until then, may your homes be your own “happiest place on earth” :) :)

Unfathomable…

Friday, May 13th, 2011

…Beauty. It takes my breath away sometimes. I’m sure all mothers feel this way about their growing daughters. She isn’t just beautiful though, she is smart, and funny and interesting. She writes short books and loves to draw, she knows how to paint in photoshop and how to use the internet. She has big front teeth that I pray she will grow into, if she doesn’t, she’ll have a huge beautiful smile to match her huge eyes.

It’s scary, having a daughter and wanting so much for her, so badly. If I could, I would give her the world, and protect her with all that I am. Since I can’t…I’ll give her my love and try to capture her beauty on film, inside and out.

Happy Easter…

Sunday, April 24th, 2011

Today I am thankful beyond any words imaginable. I am saved, I am redeemed, I am forgiven for all the stupid mistakes I have ever made. I am whole, I am secure, I am safe. I am not promised no bad things will happen, but I am promised I will never, ever be alone when they do. He cares, He loves, He is a mystery and an open book. The gifts He has given me bring me to tears (see photo below for an example of one!).

My life would be nothing without Him.

All because HE died for me…for us…for YOU.

“For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.”

1 Peter 1:18-19

Happy Easter!

The perfect backdrop…sacramento families

Friday, April 22nd, 2011

I’m not talking about the amazing weather we had (although a bit chilly and windy!) or about the gorgeous sunlight that we scored at the end of our session. I’m talking about the deep connection between this family. Mom was absolutely gorgeous, she loved her little girls, Dad lived and breathed his wife and was there to make her happy, the girls were little copies of their parents…and they all loved being a family. THAT is what I love so much. Families doing what they do, being together, loving each other and somehow it comes across in pictures.

Every Good Man…

Sunday, April 17th, 2011

Overheard at breakfast this morning coming out of Zach’s little lispy voice, “I need a yellow plate. Every good man who believes in Jesus and Bumblebee need to use yellow plates and cups”…that my friends is some good theology :)

Besides him believing Transformers are real and equivalent to the coolness of Jesus …he’s got a good hold on what God has for him in his little life. Right now I’m trying desperately to get him to keep hugging me, kissing my cheek and letting me hold him. He’s getting bigger, older, a little more sure of himself. As the mommy…I vote that holds off for just a little while. Jesus and Bumblebee…that’s all right by me…

Family in love…

I love this family so much. I’m biased though…they are some of our best friends (Juanita took my bio photo which is right above the latest blog post.)

But really…I love how IN LOVE they are. So affectionate, so kind to each other. Here is a slideshow of their family photo session taken in Old Sacramento a few weeks back (if you are viewing this post in a reader or by email, please visit the blog to see the slideshow!)
